Before today's players became synonymous with custom colors and elaborate glove designs, many young ballplayers picked their gloves based on something much simpler: the name stamped into the leather.

This vintage Wilson A2120 carries the signature of former Major League outfielder Kevin McReynolds, one of the more recognizable players of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

McReynolds spent 12 seasons in the Major Leagues, playing for the San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Kansas City Royals. His best season came in 1988 with the Mets, when he hit 27 home runs, drove in 99 runs, and finished third in National League MVP voting.

For Kansas City baseball fans, there's another connection. McReynolds spent the 1992 and 1993 seasons with the Royals.

This A2120 is part of Wilson's Signature Model family, a line of consumer baseball gloves that brought the names of Major League players to the equipment used by everyday ballplayers.
